PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE OF CONSIDERATION OF APPROVING AN INCREASE IN STATUTORY (LEVEL 1) SCHOOL FEES IMPOSED ON NEW RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 65995 AND EDUCATION CODE SECTION 17620

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Governing Board (“Board”) of the Fremont Unified School District (“School District”) at its regular board meeting to be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at approximately 6:30 p.m. or soon thereafter, at the Board Room, located at 4210 Technology Drive, Fremont, California 94538, will consider approving an increase in statutory school fees (“Level I School Fees”) that may be imposed on new residential and commercial/industrial construction located within the boundaries of the School District pursuant to Government Code Section 65995 and Education Code Section 17620.

A report entitled “2024 Fee Justification Study” was prepared pursuant to and in accordance with applicable law, which includes information and analysis demonstrating the relationship between new residential and commercial/industrial development and the School District’s need for the construction of school facilities, the estimated cost of the school facilities, and justification for the levy of Level I School Fees on new residential and commercial/industrial development.

The School Fee Justification Study and any related documents regarding the proposed adoption of the Level I School Fees will be available for public review, commencing Friday, March 15, 2024, during normal business hours at the School District’s administrative office, located at 4210 Technology Drive, Fremont, California 94538.

Public Hearing: Waiver Request for the Sale of Surplus Property 11/15/23

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education (“Board”) of the Fremont Unified School District (“District”) at its regular board meeting to be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, will conduct a public hearing to invite and consider public testimony regarding the District’s submission of an application to the State Board of Education to request a waiver of certain statutory bid procedures for the sale or lease of surplus property found at Education Code section 17455 et seq.

On January 23, 2023, the Board declared surplus and authorized the District’s staff to proceed with the disposition of vacant land, approximately eleven (11) gross acres (a portion of APN 543-0439-003-04), located west of Paseo Padre Parkway, and adjacent to Ardenwood Boulevard, in the City of Fremont, California 94538 (“Patterson Property”). The Patterson Property is depicted as “Parcel A” in the attached plat map.

The public hearing will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m., or soon thereafter, in the Board Room, located at 4210 Technology Drive in Fremont, California, 94538.

Virtual Public Hearing: Determination of Sufficient Textbooks 9/27/23

A virtual public hearing will be held at 6:30PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, on the Fremont Unified School District’s website at https://fremontunified.org/ via the Board Room, 4210 Technology Drive, Fremont California.

The Fremont USD governing board shall make a determination of sufficient textbooks and/or instructional materials in the areas of Math, Science, History/Social Science, Reading/Language Arts, Foreign Language and Health that are consistent with the content and cycles of the curriculum framework adopted by the State Board and in the area of Science laboratory equipment for grades 9-12, as appropriate.
