Accessibility

Biennial certification letter per AB-434 11546.7

Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) is committed to providing an educational environment and an informational website to all students and members of the public, including those with disabilities.

FUSD uses School Loop Content Management System (SLS2). As of February 26, 2018, WebAIM, an independent authority in web accessibility, evaluated SLS2 application and certified its conformance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.0 Level A and AA, and all web-related requirements of Federal Section 508 §1194.22 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998. This certification in conjunction with district training and procedures complies with California Government Code Sections 7405 and 11135, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0.

Some users, with or without disabilities, may not be able to see, hear, or process some types of information; may have difficulty reading or understanding text; or may not be able to use a keyboard or mouse. Website design and compatibility with website readers and other technology can make the information on the website more accessible to everyone.

FUSD continues to review and update its website to ensure compliance with current (Federal Section 504, 508, Title II ADA and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at the AA level) and future standards.

Diversity

Fremont Unified School District is committed to diversity, equality, and multiculturalism; ideas of promoting and accepting the differences between people. Diversity is about ensuring individuals are treated fairly no matter their race, gender, age, disability, religion or sexual orientation. School site contacts for assisting LGBTQ students.

We support this commitment in part with Diversity Awareness Training for all staff and a District wide curriculum for students. If you have diversity concerns, please contact your principal or department.

If you have concerns, complaints, or just a general comment, we provide a detailed web page to help direct your communication. FUSD accepts any written communication as a Uniform Complaint - no specific form is required.

We want to provide timely and accurate information. Transparency builds trust, and that trust creates a quality environment to collaborate toward our common goal that "our students are the top priority." Please contact the Office of the Superintendent with any suggestions. Our Board of Education follows the Brown Act and we endeavor to live stream and provide video archives of the meetings.
